I came across an interesting article the other day about the company Apple and your privacy. The C.E.O. of Apple, Tim Cook basically said that "Privacy is a matter of life and death"(How's that for being dramatic? :D), and if those in power don't protect it we will lose our way of life. You can read the article here. Sounds very apocalyptic to me, and I thought we should be worrying about nuclear war.

Tim Cook's speech is in response to the president's invite for the big tech companies such as Facebook, Apple, and Google to meet and speak about "sharing more information with the government to thwart attacks like those of Sony" (Sounds fishy to me) Needless to say none of the companies showed up to the meeting for obvious reasons.. Just in case you might not have an idea here are some reasons off the top of my mind:

Anywho.. Those of you with iPhones probably already know that your iMessages, and Facetimes are encrypted and supposedly even Apple can't read your messages this includes the government. however, if Apple is sent a serious request by the goverment to hand over their data, they'll take it into consideration if it's serious enough.. I think Apple's stance on giving out someone's information is good enough, however my thing is how much more information or control does thehave government want on someone and for what purposes. I agree with what Tim Cook said, just imagine if the government had more data on people it would be one scary world with them knowing your every move, contact, and probably snooping on emails..

What do you think? Do you think that these tech companies should share more information with the government? Leave your responses in the comments
